Level 1 Spotlight Raiding Guide

Welcome to Yakisoba's Spotlight on GE!

In spotlight, we'll be taking time out to show you around the world of Granado Espada, provide insights into the (mis)adventures of our guild and give out tips on how best to stay alive, thrive and keep ahead of the pack.

For this inaugural issue, we'll be taking a look into Dungeon Raiding! Raiding is one of the most highly anticipated parts of GE. Theres is hardly any better way to enjoy GE than with the company of your friends and comrades.
(Other than PKing them of course~ )

Well then, lets get on with the show.

This guide is brought to you by Yakisoba. Royalist of Cervantes Server.

1) Introduction to Spotlight
The Spotlight Dungeon is an instanced Dungeon for up to for players. Coming in several different levels of difficulty, the aim of this RAID is to defend your colony against the onslaught of Generic Mobs, Elite Units and the Dreaded Bosses. The scope of this spotlight will only cover Spotlight 1.

This RAID item is commonly found around the Area of Jezebel Glen and less commonly in the Tetra Dungeons. It can be considered a 'common rare' item.

2) Level consideration and Classes
Spotlight should ideally be undertaken by a group of four families in the level range of 40 and above. In Yakisoba, we had three families undertake this quest due to the average family level being that of 46.

Fighter:
The trustworthy fighter, always at the forefront, defending the lightly armoured damage dealers. A fighter is highly advised for Raiding parties with a lower average level. A maximum of 2 fighters is advised due to the more pressing need to deal damage quickly to the mobs. The fighters should ideally be in a defensive stance.

Musketeer:
High-powered single opponent snipers, the rifle stance is very recommended for this RAID. Yakisoba dungeon experience has shown that Dual Pistol Musketeers, while performing decently, lacked a decent punch against the the boss mobs that spawn. Kneeling is also likewise almost suicidal due to the very close range of combat.

Scout:
Running through enemy lines and back to bring adventurers from the brink of death, the scout is essential to the longterm wellbeing of any family. All families should bring in one scout dedicated each as per normal tactics. Knife-wielding scouts will find their damage curtailed by the high defences of the boss mobs.

Wizards:
Masters of the arcane, the most useful skills for the wizards are Earthquake and Apocalpyse. The wizards should try to get some distance between them and the mobs before casting so that they will not get mobbed.

Elementalist
Elemental damage dealers will have a field day as they will be dealing large amounts of damage to the mobs. Blizzard Elementalist will be highly sought after with its constant damage dealing. Blizzard Stance users should spam their Frost Cloud or Deluge. This is by far the best stance for Elementalist.

Lighting users should stay away from possesion and utilise Chain Lighting instead or Thunderstorm if it is available. Enchanted arms is recommended for its increase in damage dealing.

Fire Users will have some difficulty in the RAID but should be able to hold their own. Utilise Meteor in between the waves before getting swamped to hold them off.

3) Walkthrough
Today we have three YakiSpartans who will be braving the depths of this foul dungeon to restore peace and stability to the New World. With me, Tohsaka, are my fellow comrades, Nuub and Bernelli.

The item can be activated at any position, even on a field. Though its usually best to activate in town as the party can tweak they equipment and characters before heading into the RAID.

Double-clicking on the item ill summon a portal. This portal works very much the same way as the PvP matches.

There will be four open slots for families and the host will also be able to close slots and kick families as need. Pressing start will begin the countdown to the RAID.

As you can see, the objective of the RAID is to defend the colony. Though in practice, you will be defending yourself against the mobs as they will begin to target you once you start attacking them. Follow the usual battle practices of buffing up your squad before they start arriving.

You will face a wide variety of mobs from Tetra Dungeons, Jezebel Glen and some from Porta Bello. This includes the deaded Boss Mob, Phobitan Chieftan. They will come in large numbers. To date, the record was 5 Chieftans in a single wave.

Defend the tower (and yourselves) at all cost until the timer runs down. AND do not forget to pick up the important loot that drops with every boss mob kills. The spoils of war had the three of us laughing all the way to the bank. However, careless errors and sheer bad luck can lead to disappointment. A triple boss AOE spell blew most of us to kingdom come and the remaining mobs wiped the floor with us.

Great spoils await you, however, if you should endure. Four chest will appear, each for one family. Prizes within them include rings, soul-fillers and equipment.

This page and more was my spoils. I even recieved a +15 Def lvl 40 Elementalist Armour which I kindly gave to Nuub for his +44% Att Up lvl 40 Rifle

4) Common Problems with the RAID
i) It goes without saying but the families should squad up before they enter the RAID. It IS entirely possible and you don't want to be left hanging with 2/3s of your family down.

ii) Item Distribution This will be a major sticking point between families meeting for the first time but do not fear, there is a good solution.

In squadding up, select 'acquisition in order'. All families will take turns to get loot, no matter who picks them up. The sorting can be done after the raiding is over and loot fully accounted for.
This concludes the guide to Spotlight RAIDing~ Have fun everyone, see you all ingame.

Tohsaka, Signing off.
